1. Who we are

Tonk is operated by Lucien Montandon, an individual based in Basel, Switzerland. For privacy questions, contact hello@tonk-app.com.

2. What data we collect

  • Account data: email address and username.
  • Content you post: browser recordings, drawings, comments, reactions, and tags.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, and pages visited, used to keep the platform running and secure.
  • Microphone recordings: audio you explicitly record and upload, plus the microphone label if your browser exposes it.

3. How we use your data

We use your data exclusively to:

  • Operate and maintain Tonk.
  • Allow you to log in, post content, and interact with other users.
  • Send account-related notifications such as email confirmation or password reset.
  • Respond to support requests or takedown notices.

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data. We do not build commercial behavioural profiles.

4. Third-party services

We use Supabase for authentication, database, and file storage. We use Cloudflare for domain and email routing. These providers may process data necessary to operate Tonk.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on servers provided by Supabase. We use HTTPS and row-level security where appropriate. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and content within 30 days, except where retention is legally required.

7. Your rights

Under Swiss data protection law and the GDPR, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, or object to certain processing. Contact hello@tonk-app.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Cookies

Tonk uses only technically necessary cookies, for example to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

9. Children

Tonk is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
